Immigrate
Immigration in Canada is as old as the country itself. Canada attracts and welcomes immigrants from all parts of the world. One out of every six Canadian residents was born outside the country and immigrated to Canada as a permanent resident.
If you want to immigrate to Canada, there are a few different routes that can take you there. All applicants for immigration to Canada must submit an application for permanent residence in one of the following categories. You should first see which category you want or can apply through.
1. Skilled Workers and Professionals
These are applicants who have post-secondary (college or university) education, work experience and proficiency in one or two of the Canadian official languages (English/French).
2. Investors, entrepreneurs and self-employed persons
These are applicants who have business management experience and enough funds to invest and/or start a business in Canada.
3. Family Sponsorship
These are the applicants who have a close family member in Canada who can sponsor them.
Apart from the above, there are other routes to Canada as well. For example, the Provincial Nominee Program is designed to directly attract immigrants to province of their choice. Quebec selection programs also recruits immigrants for Quebec.
